2026 NAPT Election

NAPT will hold elections scheduled for November 16 - 20, 2026 for Region 2, Region 4 and Region 6

To ensure a fair and transparent process, we have created a timeline and protocol to allow maximum participation and openness.

2026 Election Timeline:

  • Wednesday, August 26: election dates and guidelines announced
  • Thursday, August 27: call for nominations opens
  • Thursday, August 27 - Friday, September 25: nominations window
    • During this window the following must be completed:
      • Candidate intent letter due (sent by the candidate)
      • Two (2) nominations from active NAPT members to support your candidate intent letter (sent by the two NAPT members, within your respective region)
  • After receiving the intent letter and nominations, you will receive an email confirmation with a questionnaire and next steps to move forward in the process. It is important to note that NAPT will not send a confirmation email UNTIL everything is received. If materials are not received by September 25, the candidate will not move forward in the election process.
  • September 25 - October 7: candidate preparation window
    • During this window candidates are to prepare their campaign materials: questionnaire (provided by NAPT, required), a current resume in PDF format (provided by candidate, required), and a video introducing yourself (individual to create without NAPT support, not required, maximum file size is 200 MB in MP4).
      • If materials submitted do not meet required submission details, they will not be accepted and shared until corrected.
  • October 3 - 7: If candidates are in attendance in Louisville, use this time to connect with fellow members. Candidates in attendance will be introduced at The National Transportation Briefing on Sunday, October 4.
  • October 8 - 12: NAPT staff to build campaign pages for candidates
  • October 12 - November 13: individual campaigns for each nominee
  • November 16  - Friday, November 20: elections will be held electronically
  • November 23rd: election results announced

2026 Election Protocol, here is what is required:

  • All candidates must be members, in good standing of NAPT.
  • Candidates must first submit a Letter of Intent to be considered for nomination.
    • The letter should briefly outline your background, qualifications, and reasons for seeking the position.
    • It should also include your name, credentials (i.e. CDPT), title, district/organization, email address and preferred phone number.
  • Following the letter of intent, nominations must be submitted on your behalf. We require a minimum of two (2) nominations from active NAPT members.
    • It is the responsibility of the candidate to have nominations sent to the nominations chair.
    • Nominations for Regional Director positions must be submitted by an NAPT member, in good standing, from the same region as the candidate. For example, if you are nominating someone for the Region 1 Director position, you must work within Region 1 and be an active NAPT Region 1 member.

Send your letter of intent, followed by two (2) nominations via email to Melody Coniglio, NAPT President-Elect and Nominations Committee Chair (melody.coniglio@westg.org).
