The National Association for Pupil Transportation (NAPT) is pleased to announce the results of its 2025 election, highlighting the continued strength of member engagement and leadership across the organization. The newly elected and reelected officers will be sworn in and begin their terms on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the association's Annual Conference and Trade Show (NAPT ACTS) in Grand Rapids, MI.
The following members were elected and reelected to the board:
- President-Elect: Melody Coniglio, CDPT, CSNT, Director of Transportation at West Geauga Local Schools (OH) has been elected as NAPT President-Elect. Coniglio currently serves as Region 3 Director and will transition into this new role for a two-year term before advancing to President.
- Region 1 Director: Marc Medina, Supervisor of Transportation at Farmingdale School District (NY). Medina succeeds Peter Lawrence (NY), who completed three terms and, under NAPT bylaws, has reached his term limit. Lawrence's leadership helped establish a strong foundation for the region and positioned it for continued success.
- Region 5 Director: Dawnett Wright, Director of Transportation at Peninsula School District (WA). Wright succeeds Athena Bartz (WY), who completed one term and chose not to seek reelection. Bartz's service strengthened the region's voice and advanced state and national partnerships.
- Affiliate Member Director: Maritza Valentin, National Sales Manager for AMF Bruns of America was re-elected for a second term. Valentin will continue her work to strengthen connections between industry business partners and members.
“I commend everyone who ran in this election—you are the foundation of our strength. I look forward to working with the full Board of Directors to keep NAPT moving forward,” added NAPT President-Elect Keith Kaup and the 2025 NAPT Nominations Chair.
The 2025 election highlights the importance of active member involvement and the critical function of leadership in promoting safety and professionalism in student transportation. We urge all members to attend NAPT ACTS for the inauguration of the new Board of Directors, where they can also participate in Regional Assemblies to connect with members, including Directors, from their region.
A special election will be held to fill the Region 3 Director seat, which becomes vacant once the new board is sworn in at NAPT ACTS. In addition, members will vote October 6–10 on proposed bylaw amendments, including changes to the regional structure that will directly impact director representation.
We encourage every member to take part in this important bylaw amendment vote. It is your collective voices that continue to shape the future of NAPT.
