Recognizing and Addressing Secondary Trauma in the Workplace
Washing your hands is key to minimizing the spread of germs. This is a fact, so we wash our hands often and masterfully. What happens when something negative isn’t so easily washed away? What happens when this something can’t be seen? What happens when you don’t understand the exposure? This is often the case with secondary trauma in our workplace. We think a trauma isn’t affecting us, we push forward, and move past, but we get fatigued and our empathy starts to fade.
This course will give you tools for awareness and self-care as it relates to secondary trauma, as well as to offer tools in designing an organizational response to help keep staff feeling supported and safe.
